Rajon Rondo

Coming into the season, many were curious to see what type of role Rajon Rondo would have on the Lakers this season. After last season, many were not impressed with Rondo, as he played very poor on the defensive end, and sometimes didn’t look like he was trying all that hard.

When the Lakers re-signed Rondo this summer, many expected that he would fall out of the rotation quickly after what they saw last season. However, Rondo has been playing quite well for the Lakers this season, and has exceeded what he did last season.

This season, Rondo is averaging 8.1 points, 5.7 assists, and 3.7 rebounds in just over 20 minutes per game. Rondo is shooting the ball extremely well from the 3-point line, and he has a PER over 16.

The only thing that has held Rondo back a bit this season has been the injuries. Rondo has already missed 12 games this season. Fortunately, the Lakers have more depth this season that has been able to make up for when Rondo has missed time.

Compared to last season, Rondo has been a much better player through a quarter of the season. Hopefully, he can stay a bit healthier moving forward and continue his strong play.
