Los Angeles Lakers: Ranking the 5 best players thus far in 2019-20 season
By Brad Magsam
Now that the Los Angeles Lakers are just over a third of the way through the 2019-20 NBA season, it is time to rank the five best players so far. Although some may be predictable, others maybe not so much.
LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers continue their historic start to the season. After Sunday’s win over the Atlanta Hawks, the Lakers improved to 24-3 and tied for first place in the NBA alongside the Milwaukee Bucks. They now both have identical 24-4 records as they will face off in a huge matchup this week.
The purple and gold have gotten production from nearly everyone on the roster. It feels as if a new hero surfaces in each game.
With high expectations for the team, who on the roster has succeeded most on this juggernaut of a team? From the sharpshooting of Danny Green to the resurgence of Dwight Howard, it appears that Rob Pelinka has put together a deeper team than originally thought.
Frank Vogel may not have an elite third scorer like the Los Angeles Clippers do with Lou Williams or Montrezl Harrell, but it appears he has the tools to make an incredible rotation.
As we ramp up into the next trimester of the regular season, it will be important to see guys on the team become more consistent in their production. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been vocal in their reluctance to load manage, so the more help the dynamic duo can have the better for their long-term health as the playoffs approach.
The season is still young and the Los Angeles Lakers still have a long ways to go to show just how much of a contender they are. These five players continuing to play at the level they have been thus far in the 2019-20 season will go a long way to the team having more success as the season goes on.
