On Christmas Day, the Los Angeles Lakers will need more from their bench if they hope to get a win against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Despite having the best record in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers have started to face some adversity.
Los Angeles is coming into Christmas with a three-game losing streak, as things have been challenging for the first time all year. On Christmas, things will not be getting any easier for the Lakers, as they face the Los Angeles Clippers.
Since the offseason, the Clippers and the Lakers have been the two most-hyped teams in the Western Conference, and many believe it will come down to these two in the Western Conference Playoffs.
This will be the second time that the Clippers and the Lakers have faced off this season, as the two met on Opening Night. In that game, both teams were without key players, as the Lakers were missing Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma. On the other hand, the Clippers were without Paul George.
Even though it was just the first game of the season, a lot has changed since then. However, in the Lakers loss, we know one thing from that game that they will have to improve upon.
In the Opening Night loss, the Clippers bench dominated the Lakers. The Lakers only scored 13 bench points in that loss, and the Clippers bench had four players in double-figures with 50 total bench points.
With Rondo and Kuzma back, the Lakers bench will hopefully be able to keep up with the Clippers a bit more in this game. Since Paul George will be back in action in this game, the Lakers really need to close that gap in bench scoring.
In addition to the bench needing to be better, the two superstars for the Lakers weren’t all that efficient in the loss either. The chemistry between LeBron James and Anthony Davis has certainly grown since then, so we should see a better outing from those two.
This game has all the makings of a great showdown for NBA fans on Christmas Night. Hopefully, it can live up to the hype.
