LeBron James and Anthony Davis are the Los Angeles Lakers two top players, but who is the Purple and Gold’s third-best performer?
From day one, LeBron James and Anthony Davis morphed into the best duo in the NBA, forming a tandem who’s various skill sets mesh incredibly well together.
All the statistics jump off the screen and shout that LBJ and AD are the Lakers two best players. However, another star has yet to emerge in Hollywood.
We’ll determine who has been the Lakers third-best player during the first part of the season.
Honorable Mentions
Kyle Kuzma
Kyle Kuzma has averaged 11.1 PPG and is now shooting a solid 36 percent from deep. However, Kuzma’s missed a good amount of time, and can anybody honestly say they’ve noticed when he doesn’t suit up? This season Kyle’s played decent basketball, but he hasn’t been the type of two-way impact player Lakers fans hoped he’d become.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s emergence as a solid 3-and-D player after his disastrous start to the season has been a great story. But, he’s last on the Lakers in defensive rating at 106.1 (minimum 15 minutes per game) and he has the worst net rating out of any regular rotation player (-4.6).
JaVale McGee
JaVale McGee’s played well for the Lakers, but he only averages 16 minutes per game, and he’s ranked 14th on the Lakers in defensive rating (104.6), which is not ideal for your starting center.
Let’s take a look at some of the candidates.
