Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Keys to beating the Phoenix Suns in Game 34
By Ethan Temkin
With the Los Angeles Lakers looking for their third straight win against the Phoenix Suns, let’s take a look at the three keys to victory.
After losing four straight games, the Los Angeles Lakers have bounced back and won their last two games against the Blazers and Mavericks. The team is showing some incredible resiliency, as LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been dealing with their fair share of injuries throughout the season.
However, even through all of that, the team is still sitting atop the Western Conference with a 26-7 record and are currently ranked 6th in offense and 4th in defense. The team has a fairly easy matchup against the 12-20 Phoenix Suns, who after a promising 5-2 start to the season, have regressed to the bottom third of the standings.
Still, the Suns have talented scorers in Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton, a dependable point guard in Ricky Rubio, and a solid coach in Monty Williams to make all the pieces fit together. So regardless of what their record indicates, this team is still capable of wining against the best teams on any given night.
After suffering an ankle injury in his first game back from suspension, Ayton returned to action against the Portland Trailblazers playing 20 minutes, and putting up 6 points and 12 rebounds. But other than that, the team has no one listed on the injury report.
After a tough December schedule that saw the Lakers go 9-5, here are the three keys to victory to ensure that the team starts the month of January with a victory.
