Recently, the Los Angeles Lakers gave Rob Pelinka a nice promotion. Shortly after, LeBron James came out and supported the move.

The Los Angeles Lakers have made the wise decision to give Rob Pelinka a nice promotion after their stellar start to the season.

It was less than a year ago when the Lakers looked like an absolute mess. Magic Johnson shockingly decided to resign, and there was a ton of drama surrounding the team after the failed Anthony Davis trade.

This summer, with Pelinka leading the way, the Lakers were able to have a strong offseason. They addressed the coaching situation with a good hire in Frank Vogel. Also, they finally completed the trade for Davis, giving them one of the best duos in the NBA.

Even though the Lakers did miss out on Kawhi Leonard, the backup plan that they had in place was certainly a good one. Adding guys to fill out the roster with quality depth has helped the Lakers immensely in the regular season.

With Pelinka getting the promotion, LeBron James recently came out and tweeted his support for the new Vice President of Basketball Operations.

Pelinka is certainly deserving of the praise, as the turnaround for the Lakers has been remarkable. Going from missing the playoffs last year to a title contender is a huge turnaround, and one that deserves to be praised and recognized.

The Lakers currently have one of the best records in the NBA and are set up to be title contenders. With the trade deadline and buyout period coming up, Pelinka will have his hands full with making tough decisions to add what could be the final pieces to a championship roster.

However, after the strong few months of work from Pelinka this season, the franchise should be confident that he will make the right choices in the next couple of weeks.
