The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly interested in Derrick Rose. Here are three reasons why they should not pursue him.
Despite having the best record in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to still improve.
With some great teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers likely standing in their way of winning a championship, the Lakers know that they have some issues that can be improved upon still this season.
One of the areas that has been an issue for the Lakers this season has been finding a playmaker behind LeBron James. When James is on the court, the offense is a lot better than when he is off of it. The main reason for that is that the Lakers lack a strong playmaker coming off the bench behind.
For much of the season, Rajon Rondo has been the main ball-handler when James is off the court. However, his results have been mixed this season, and the Lakers would like to have a better option in that role.
Recently, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported that the Lakers are interested in Derrick Rose of the Detroit Pistons.
With the Pistons having a poor season, a firesale could be coming in Detroit, and Rose is certainly an appealing piece for them to move. While Rose is playing quite well for the Pistons, they would certainly move them if they could acquire some young assets.
While Rose is having a strong season for the Pistons, that doesn’t necessarily mean the Lakers should go for him. Here are three reasons why the Lakers should not pursue Derrick Rose.
