The Los Angeles Lakers had some memorable transactions during the 2010 decade. We take a look back at the three best signings and trades that occurred.
The 2010s were not kind to the Los Angeles Lakers. They started off the decade with a championship but a myriad of injuries and controversies during this time forced the Lakers into lottery hell. However, during this period, the Lakers have made some trades and free-agent signings that put them in a position to win.
The decade started with so much hope. The Lakers had once again reached the mountain top. They had slain their bitter rivals the Boston Celtics in an epic 7-game series for the ages. Kobe Bryant had now matched one of his idols and former Lakers legend Magic Johnson with his 5th ring. Pau Gasol had gotten his 2nd ring and the Lakers were back to back champions.
Thoughts swiftly moved on to a 3-peat. However, several factors did not line up for the purple and gold and a swift and unceremonious fall was soon to follow.
The Chris Paul Vetoed trade, the Dwightmare, Kobe tearing his Achilles and Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak trading away most of the Lakers picks and signing Luol Deng and Timofey Mozgov.
So you could say, the championship in 2010 feels like an eternity ago.
