The Los Angeles Lakers shot lights out from distance and Dwight Howard handled business down low!

The Los Angeles Lakers shot 50% from the land on the extra point. The team’s 19-of-38 performance from 3-point land was spread out over the entire roster. It is broken down this way.

  • LeBron James shot 3-6. He probably would have shot more if the Nets didn’t have guards trying to body him in the post.
  • Danny Green actually filled his quota shooting well once every two weeks at 4-of-7.
  • Kyle Kuzma continued shot 3-of-5 from distance to keep up the debates if he fits in this offense going forward.
  • Jared Dudley shot 2-of-3 from distance. His exploits have been well documented in this article.
  • Rajon Rondo shot 1-of-3 from 3-point land. Would you believe his 3-point shot started the 26-2 run for the Lakers? He had 10 assists too. The Lakers STILL need a playmaker.
  • Kentavious Caldwell-Pope hit all of his three 3-point shots. Get this. He was fouled on one 3-point shot. Went to the free throw line and missed a free throw. LeBron hit all of his free throws. Strange game.
  • Alex Caruso finally got off the snide and scored a basket after four games. He hit two 3-point shots. For his reward, Frank Vogel sat him down. He only played 10 minutes.

While the Lakers shooters were matching the Nets shooters (They actually hit 21!) for the majority of the first half. Dwight Howard played very well in his first start

Dwight Howard filled in for JaVale McGee, who was out with flu-like symptoms (He was sick the last time the team was in Brooklyn. Get better JaVale!) and dominated the paint for the Lakers. He scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

The Brooklyn Nets actually tried to use the zone to stop the Lakers. After LeBron hit Howard with this alley oop here.

The zone pretty much was rendered useless afterwards. It was reported that Dwight Howard will be in the Slam Dunk contest on All-Star weekend. Lakers fans, you have to tune in to watch. Shaquille O’Neal is already threatening Kenny Smith about calling Dwight, Superman.

It was also reported that fans actually gave Dwight Howard some votes for the All-Star team. To see Howard contribute to this team under the tough circumstances of his back surgery, bad reputation and a non guaranteed contract, every vote is deserved.

Don’t say that Lake Show Life didn’t see it all along.

The Los Angeles Lakers play Philadelphia next on Saturday.
