Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Ways Markieff Morris can help the team
The Los Angeles Lakers have finally entered the buyout market. By waiving DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins, the Lakers have agreed to sign former Detroit Pistons power forward Markieff Morris. With Morris soon to join the roster, what can he add to the Lakers?
With the NBA trade deadline come and gone, the Los Angeles Lakers stood pat. After the passing of the beloved Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, the purple and gold seemed hesitant to make hasty moves during this period, valuing togetherness and team chemistry over making any major changes to their personnel.
With the buy out the market in full swing, the Los Angeles Lakers finally decided to make a move to improve their roster.
With Shams Charania of The Athletic confirmed the news regarding Detroit Pistons power forward Markieff Morris making his way to the purple and gold.
A roster spot will be needed to allow for this move to happen. Unfortunately, the Lakers had to part ways with former Sacramento King and New Orleans Pelican All-Star DeMarcus Cousins, who looks to be sidelined for the rest of the season rehabbing a torn ACL.
It is likely that Cousins will spend the remainder of the season rehabbing at the Lakers practice facility and potentially re-sign with the purple and gold in free agency this summer.
With the roster space freed up and Morris set to join the Los Angeles Lakers roster, one question comes to mind. What can Markieff Morris bring to the Lakers roster?
