Willing to play a role for a Championship contender

This season, to say there is a massive gulf in quality and play between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Detroit Pistons is an understatement.

Over the last decade, the Los Angeles Lakers have not been the most reliable organization in terms of, well, anything. However, under the leadership of Rob Pelinka, things seem to have changed for the better.

With team chemistry at an all-time high, players loving the role in which they are playing for the Lakers and the purple and gold consistently playing at a high level on the court, a lot of credit must be given to Rob Pelinka for changing things so quickly.

This has been the best Lakers team to watch in a long, long time and the fans can feel the enjoyment in which the team is bringing to the court and it adds an extra level of excitement for fans worldwide.

In other words, Lakers Nation is feeling the love.

With Morris now joining the purple and gold, the Lakers will be adding a borderline starting caliber player to an already congested forward rotation.

For most teams, this could spell absolute disaster. With players struggling for minutes, arguing with the front office for more time on the court and players just being unhappy with their role on the team.

This could have easily happened to the Los Angeles Lakers this year. With potential starting caliber players coming off the bench left and right with the likes of Dwight Howard, Kyle Kuzma, Rajon Rondo and KCP at one point in their careers were valuable starters to their previous organization, but this isn’t the case, they have all fought for minutes, all get along and all try to impact the game when they get on the court.

Markieff Morris seems to be cut from the same cloth. Willing to work hard, earn his minutes, play hard when he comes on the court and willing to do whatever it takes for his team to win.

Morris could be a huge help in the second half of the season, allowing for the likes of Anthony Davis and LeBron James to get rest during the season and be fully prepared, rested and healthy for the playoffs.

If Morris can come onto the Lakers and do whatever is required by Coach Frank Vogel and impact the game when he is on the floor, then the Lakers have gotten themselves a potentially valuable player who can help them out this season and come playoff time.
