The Los Angeles Lakers were able to get a big win against the Boston Celtics on Sunday. In the win, Kyle Kuzma provided a nice boost for the team.
On Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to get some revenge against the Boston Celtics from an earlier loss this season.
The first matchup between the Celtics and the Lakers was one of the worst games of the season for the Lakers. With this game being back in Los Angeles, revenge was certainly on the mind of the Lakers.
Throughout the game, it was close between the two teams, but the Lakers were able to come out on top in this one. As expected, LeBron James and Anthony Davis did their thing like they have all season.
For the Celtics, they got a huge performance from Jayson Tatum, who had one of the best games of his career. In the loss, Tatum finished with 41 points on 12-for-20 shooting from the field and 13-of-15 from the free-throw line. The great game from Tatum kept the Celtics in it without Kemba Walker, but it wasn’t enough.
For the Lakers, their bench had a really solid game. Pretty much everyone chipped in for the Lakers’ bench unit, as it was solid game overall. However, one player that stood out off the bench was Kyle Kuzma.
All season, the Lakers have been waiting for Kuzma to be their third scoring option. In the win on Sunday, Kuzma looked like that type of player. Off the bench, Kuzma scored 16 points on 6-for-13 shooting from the field.
The boost off the bench is exactly what the Lakers are looking for out of Kuzma. With Markieff Morris signing with the Lakers, this could light a little fire under Kuzma to play better. Kuzma was on the floor to finish the game and he didn’t shy away from covering Tatum at times.
This was certainly a big win for the Lakers against their rival and one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference. The strong game from Kuzma certainly helped them achieve that, and hopefully we will see him become a bit more consistent in the second half of the season.
