This past weekend, the Los Angeles Lakers made a statement that they are indeed a true title contender.

In arguably the biggest back-to-back of the season, the Los Angeles Lakers had a lot to prove. While they might have been saying that the weekend series was just normal games, we all know that this was a crucial weekend for the Lakers.

Since the Lakers were a combined 0-3 going into this weekend against the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers, the narrative was that the Lakers might have been a little bit behind the Bucks and the Clippers.

However, the Lakers were able to quickly change that narrative this weekend, as they started out by beating the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night. Beating the best team in the Eastern Conference was certainly a good momentum builder for the Lakers, as the Bucks are the heavy favorite to win the Eastern Conference.

The Lakers could have suffered a letdown on Sunday against the Clippers, but instead, beat their rival for the first time this season. The win against the Clippers could have arguably been their biggest of the season, as a third loss to the Clippers this season would have resulted in a lot of talk about the Clippers being the clear cut favorite in the West.

In the win against the Clippers, the Lakers had a strong performance from their two stars. Both Anthony Davis and LeBron James played very well, as they combined for 58 points, and were pretty efficient from the field.

However, the shocking performance for the Lakers came from Avery Bradley. In the win, Bradley was able to finish with a season-high of 24 points. Bradley was the only other Laker besides Davis and LeBron in double figures, as it was a needed boost for the team.

With a great weekend in the books, the Lakers will be back in action on Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets. Hopefully, the Lakers will not have any sort of letdown against Brooklyn after the fantastic weekend.
