Lakers Rumors: NBA to re-evaluate suspension in 30 days
By Nick Ziegler
Recent Lakers rumors are the NBA will be taking 30 days and then re-evaluating their suspension.
As the NBA enters their shocking suspension of play, recent Lakers rumors have been about when we might see the team back on the court.
After some brutal years for the Lakers, Los Angeles is finally back to being one of the best teams in the NBA. Recently, the Lakers were able to have one of their best weekends of the season, as they beat the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The wins against the Bucks and the Clippers helped the Lakers prove that they are a title contender, as they beat two of the top teams in the league on one weekend. Unfortunately now, the NBA has suspended the season indefinitely.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the league will be taking 30 days off, then re-evaluating how things are going.
Considering players have tested positive for the coronavirus, the league had to make a swift judgment call to suspend the season. Protecting players, coaches, employees, and fans is the most important thing for the league right now, and that is why there isn’t basketball.
With the 30-day suspension, that puts us around mid-April for the re-evaluation. That timeline puts us right around when the end of the regular season would be coming to a close. Assuming that the suspension is lifted, it would be safe to imagine the league would need some time to fire back up fully with a month off.
The really interesting question will be what will the NBA do with the remaining regular-season games. We could see the NBA play into the summer and complete the regular season, or we could see them jump right into the playoffs on a timeline that would have been close to normal.
This will certainly be a situation to monitor moving forward, as the NBA will likely be announcing a plan for what is next soon.
