Lakers Rumors: Owners hope to be playing basketball by July

Recent Lakers rumors are that after meeting with health organizations, NBA owners are hopeful to have basketball back by July.

With the NBA currently being suspended, recent Lakers rumors have been about when we might see the team back on the court.

Since the coronavirus stated, there have been massive changes in really just days in the country. After Rudy Gobert tested positive for the virus, the NBA quickly moved to suspend the season. Most other leagues followed as sporting events could be a quick way for the virus to spread with a large number of people.

With the NBA set to re-evaluate in less than 30 days now, the owners and commissioner Adam Silver have been very proactive trying to get as much information as they can from knowledgeable health officials. Recently, they met with credible health organizations.

The owners leaving the meeting with the hope that basketball could return in July is certainly good for fans of the game, and the country in general. With many on lockdown essentially, people are going to have a hard time dealing with every going on soon.

Sports is a great way for people to escape what is going on in life, and this is one of the first times in history that we don’t have sports to help us all get through something.

While the NBA gets its timeline of a possible return ready, the next step will be to figure out where the season will be picking up at. July is still a long way away, as we could certainly see them start the playoffs up rather quickly if that is the case. However, losing around 20 games in the regular season would cost the league quite a bit of money. With the lengthy delay, they would likely want to try and get those games in.
