Recent Lakers rumors are that they had two players test positive for the coronavirus. However, JaVale McGee doesn’t appear to be one of them.

As we patiently wait for the NBA season to resume, recent Lakers rumors have been about what the NBA will look like when it’s finally back.

The last time that we saw the Lakers in action, they suffered a tough loss to the Brooklyn Nets. This was a bit of a letdown spot for the Lakers, as they had just come off of wins against the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers.

After the Nets beat the Lakers, they were slated to play against the Golden State Warriors. However, the league was suspended before they played that game due to the coronavirus. The Nets decided to test their players for the virus, and four players came back with positive results, including Kevin Durant.

Due to the Nets playing the Lakers in their most recent game, the Lakers decided to test all of their players. Unfortunately, two players have tested positive for the virus.

According to Chris Haynes, one of the players that didn’t test positive was JaVale McGee.

McGee’s test coming back negative is certainly great news, as while he is a professional athlete in great shape, he does have asthma, which puts him at risk more. As the starting center for the Lakers, McGee has been a key part of their success this season. This season, McGee has averaged 6.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

We will have to wait and see if the names of who tested positive become known for the Lakers. But with the team being healthy before the tests, we will have to hope that they can battle through the virus.

Considering McGee was an at-risk person, it is certainly good that he tested negative. Hopefully, the two players that did positive can get back to full strength soon.
