As we patiently wait for the NBA season to resume, Quinn Cook of the Los Angeles Lakers is hopeful that the season will resume.
Even though the NBA season hasn’t been away for long, it feels like it has been much longer than it has been.
With the NBA being suspended, the Los Angeles Lakers are waiting for the season to start back up. Having the best record in the Western Conference has resulted in the Lakers being one of the best teams in the league.
Since the Lakers have been great all season, we have been anxiously awaiting them snapping their playoff drought. It has been a long wait for many Lakers fans, and the coronavirus has made that wait even longer.
While we don’t know how long the league will be suspended for, the hope is that the season will resume at some point this year. Recently, Quinn Cook of the Lakers talked about the suspension and his belief that the season will resume. Here’s what Cook had to say to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports with text from Silver Screen and Roll.
“I think so, I think so. I think we’ll get through this virus together, as a country, as a world. I think we’ll get through it, man, and we’ll get back to sports and stuff like that. But I think everybody’s health is the most important thing, so I agree with what’s going on right now.
“I’d rather be prepared than not be prepared. They could mess around and cancel the whole thing, we might not play another game this season, but I think we’re preparing to come back. And I think with all the resources that the NBA has I think we’ll come back.”
Fans around the NBA are hopeful for the season to resume and fans of the Lakers especially are. It has not been a good stretch fr the Lakers in recent years and snapping the playoff drought with a chance to win a title was something that all fans were excited for.
Unfortunately, we don’t know how the NBA will act after the virus situation settles down. There is certainly a possibility that the season resumes where it left off. Or, we could see them jump right into the playoffs.
Hopefully, Cook is right and the NBA season is back soon rather than later. For Lakers fans, having the season canceled after such a great start to the season would be a tough pill to swallow.
