– Potential canceling of the season

While resuming the season in the playoffs is something that the players don’t want, the one thing everyone can agree one is that we don’t want the season canceled. For some teams that have been playing or not playing for draft picks, canceling the season wouldn’t be that big of a deal.

However, for the Lakers, they have to know that their window to win isn’t a big one. Even though LeBron James is having an MVP caliber season, he isn’t getting any younger. Father time is undefeated, and he will eventually be coming for LeBron.

Hopefully, that is a long way away for LeBron and the Lakers, but losing a season of James and Davis would be a tough pill to swallow for the Lakers. After giving up their young core for Davis, the Lakers are clearly in a win-now mode.

After years of really bad losing seasons, the fans and the franchise are hungry for some success. While the Lakers can certainly still win a championship despite the season being suspended, it’s impossible to know what would happen in the offseason for the team if they canceled the season.
