Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis has proven this season that he is worth everything the Los Angeles Lakers traded to get him.

In the aftermath of the trade which sent Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, the 4th overall pick and numerous picks over the coming years to the New Orleans Pelicans, general manager Rob Pelinka was maligned for overpaying for a player that would be available for free in the summer of 2020.

Pelinka was correct in trading for Davis.

With LeBron James on your roster, there is no room for kicking the can down the road on another season.

Davis exploded out of the gates for the Lakers and has only gone from strength to strength the entire season.

One of the main worries regarding Anthony Davis was his ability to stay healthy. Minus one or two minor injuries which have caused him to miss a few games, Davis has stayed in good health so far this season.

With a healthy Anthony Davis and a healthy DeMarcus Cousins, the Lakers would have the best big man pairing in the entire NBA.

SB Nation outlines how to successfully Boogie and AD have played together.

With both men interchangeable at the center and power forward positions and both players having different skill sets, the Lakers would torch the opposing team in the paint as they would find it impossible to contain both players on a nightly basis.

If Cousins is dominating down low, Davis can step out to the perimeter. If Davis is dominating in the paint, Cousins can step out to the perimeter.

Both can defend the rim at an All-Star level and are excellent passers for their size. Both also have the physicality to hold up inside and have experience playing with each other.

You cannot buy chemistry and these guys have it.
