The Snoop D-o-“Double” G and Anthony Davis speak highly of him.
Sometimes you have to look to the superfans of the franchise when making moves. It worked when the season ticket holders made it clear to bring back Phil Jackson when he wasn’t offered a contract extension after the Finals loss to the Pistons in the early 2000s. It might be time to start to listen again.
A couple of weeks back, Snoop Dogg made an appearance on the “All The Smoke” podcast, with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. With the Western Conference Final showdown featuring the Lakers and the Clippers the odds on favorite, the conversation went to roster moves.
Snoop Dogg stated that he believes Jamal Crawford could help push the team over the edge.
"“That’s who we need Jamal Crawford,” said Snoop Dogg. “He can answer, and I say in the marry month of May we have an acquisition because everything is not what it’s supposed to be. There is always something missing.”"
Snoop Dogg represents the fan off the court to bring Crawford to the Lakers. For this to work, it would help for a superstar to co-sign a free agent signing. How about Anthony Davis?
"“Instant scorer,” “If we’re looking for a scorer, he’s definitely on that list. He can score at will. He knows the game, very crafty with the ball, so if we’re looking for a scorer, then he’s definitely a guy I can see us going after.”"
When the Los Angeles Clippers, signed him to a three-year deal at $42 million years back, they relied on his offense late in the game like they do with a certain former Lakers player that is in a Clippers uniform today.
