3. Hassan Whiteside

Hassan Whiteside has truly returned to prominence this season. He has filled the five spot for the Portland Trail Blazers admirably following the extended absence of Jusuf Nurkic. Whiteside is currently averaging 16.4 points, 14.2 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game on 61.8 percent shooting from the field.

Whiteside holds a 3.68 PIPM mark on the season, which places him as the 14th-most valuable player, above the marks of star big men like Karl-Anthony Towns and Joel Embiid.

While the outstanding rim protector might not be as good as those two superstars, he certainly can bang down low with the best of them.

He fits a similar mold to Drummond in that he is an old-fashioned type of center who cannot stretch the floor, but he is even better than Drummond. Whiteside will also likely cost a lot less in free agency and could continue his excellent comeback to stardom with Los Angeles.
