Continue to work on his 3-point shooting

Anthony Davis has been nothing short of spectacular for the Los Angeles Lakers this season. On both ends of the floor, AD dominates. Whether he is cleaning the offensive glass and slamming it down, blocking shots at an elite level, backing down his man and getting easy buckets at the basket or defending some of the best players in the league, he seems to be able to do everything.

While there are so many areas that Davis is dominant there are a few he could definitely get better at.

His 3-point shooting is one of them.

Let’s face facts, throughout his entire career, Davis has never been a good 3-point shooter, it is even fair to say that he hasn’t even been an average 3-point shooter. Davis, for his career, is a 31.9% 3-point shooter. To be fair to Davis, he has stepped his 3-point percentage up this season to 33.5%, which is definitely an improvement.

Davis is on the cusp of teams having to follow him out to the 3-point line. He requires some respect from his defenders now but they will still give him  some breathing room knowing that mathematically, he is more likely to miss or to force his way to the basket then make a 3-point shot.

During this time off, Davis should be in touch with Lakers shooting coach Mike Penberthy.

Video-call, Zoom, Skype. Use whatever tool is necessary in order to continue to work with the Lakers personnel during this time off.

If Davis can improve his 3-point shooting, then the league better watch out because you have one of the most complete players in the league getting even more dangerous.

Davis has the length to shoot over pretty much anyone so if he can hit the 3-ball at an above league average teams are going to be in trouble.
