Cleveland Cavaliers at Los Angeles Lakers — January 13, 2020

Howard clearly had a hot hand in January, because less than a week later he hit another three-pointer against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Another easy win for the Lakers and another great game for Dwight. He scored a season-high 21 points and a second-best 15 rebounds. Although he did not block any shot, he had a very efficient game, making nine of his ten attempts from the field (including 1-for-1 from three) and an acceptable 2-for-3 from the free-throw line.

We must admit that this time the contribution on his side was minimal, as most of his points came from assists in the area by his teammates. He limited himself to roll to the basket.

Cleveland should have been able to make a stand with Tristan Thompson having a career-year. On their side Howard and co. did not manage to limit him as well, as Thompson had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Anyway, they won the game by 29, so we have to believe they handled him well enough to secure the victory.

This game might be defined a fierce matchup between two modern centers. Not the way it used to be in the past, when guys like Patrick Ewing and Alonzo Mourning were facing each other, but this is the way the game goes these days.
