Lakers rumors may be tied to NBA rumors of a probable return to play. After Brian Windhorst discussed a possible plan for the NBA, Jared Dudley spoke out. Lake Show Life talks if Dudley actually has the inside track behind the scenes.

Anyone miss the NBA yet? Anyone miss the Los Angeles Lakers? How about Lakers rumors? How many out there would actually believe that the NBA was suspended about one month ago?

NBA commissioner Adam Silver has stated for the record to Ernie Johnson, that the league will not begin to consider a potential restart to the 2019-2020 NBA season until at least May 1st. But he made it clear that the league is doing everything it can to put together a plan for the league to resume play as soon as possible.

Well, this version of Lakers rumors may be the most important in recent NBA history and beyond.

Forget what’s going on in the locker room, this is about business and a ton of money that affects the entire NBA. Not only are the players affected by this pandemic financially, but it seems the owners are feeling it too.

Over the weekend, a flicker of light on the plans the NBA may have to move in the right direction. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the NBA is considering a 25-day preparation window where players would be able to work out individually, and then move into a team training camp before games take place. Pay particular attention to the caption of Jared Dudley as it refers to Windhorst’s report.

Before we break down what Jared Dudley is talking about, let’s discuss the 25-day plan.

  • Players would go through an 11-day stretch of individual workouts in which they could maintain some measure of social distancing while ramping up training and activity.
  • Medical officials then must give the green light to ease restrictions of social distancing.
  • The next step would be to allow for a two-week training camp with entire teams participating.

There are many players following quarantine directives unable to properly train to finish out the season. The reigning MVP, Giannis Antetokuonmpo doesn’t even have a basket to practice shooting. Other players that are on the low-end of the pay scale do not have access to work on their games (Living in condos, apartments, etc.).

The biggest concern is about potential player injuries when play is permitted again. Some NBA executives have stressed the need for a full month of preparation before a return to competitive action. A discussion that needs to be addressed based on the higher level of play when the playoffs start.

Adam Silver is the best commissioner in sports. There had to be in-depth conversations about team planning sessions with peers, medical teams and league executives to figure out a way to continue its season.

Why? Because the financial ramifications of the pandemic is huge. Jared Dudley has been in the NBA for years, he may have given us a peek behind the firewall of how hard the NBA is working to get the product back on the floor and why.

Let’s just say that the NBA is not the only party that would love to see live games back on the docket. Let’s talk about ESPN for a second.
