Los Angeles Lakers: Top Ten Moments of the 2019-2020 Season
By Ethan Temkin
With this unprecedented pause in sports, let’s take a look back at the top ten moments of the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2019-2020 season.
With the NBA season in flux and the unpredictability of its return, we thought it would be a good idea to look back on the tremendous season the Los Angeles Lakers were having. The start to the season was marked by the blockbuster trade for Anthony Davis, and the Lakers hit the ground running, and provided the fans with a season chock-full of highlight plays, game-winning shots, and memorable moments.
When the season was officially suspended, the Lakers had the best record in the Western Conference at 49-15, a top-ten offense and defense, and perhaps the best one-two punch in the league in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The team as a whole was developing a tremendous chemistry and were coming off the heels of two huge back to back victories against the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers.
Ignoring the late-game loss against the Brooklyn which ended up being the last game of the Laker’s season prior to the suspension, the team was finally looking like the championship contender we all expected them to be.
It’s too early to tell whether or not the NBA can salvage the rest of the season, but at the very least, it’s going to be quite some time before we see any kind of NBA action outside of classic games, and HORSE competitions, so we figured this would the best time to reflect on what was shaping up to be a great season for the Los Angeles Lakers. With all that mind, let’s get into the top ten moments of the Lakers’ 2019-2020 season.
