4.) AD drops 50 on the Timberwolves

This is the game where we were able to see the full potential of a LeBron James/Anthony Davis pairing as these two were fully in their bags, especially Davis, who went off for a season-high 50 points, en route to a monster stat line of 50/7/6, with four blocks and one steal. The Brow was unconscious from every spot on the floor and showed us the full range of his skills as a scorer.

Everything was clicking for Davis that night, as he was hitting fallaway jumpers, post-ups, transition buckets, and easy lobs from Rondo and James. As Shaquille O’Neal is known for saying, he turned Karl-Anthony Towns into BBQ chicken that night, as the team simply did not have an answer for him all game. Davis’ offensive versatility was on full display that night, and showed basketball fans why he should be considered one of the best players in the league.

He is simply too big, too strong, and too quick for anyone to capably guard him over the course of an entire game, and can attack you in so many ways that makes him nearly impossible to game-plan for.

In addition, when you pair him with a world-class distributor in LeBron James, who knows basically every trick in the book when it comes to setting his teammates up, you might as well just throw in the towel. LeBron has mastered every type of pass there is, from full-court outlets that find Davis in stride, to skip passes that that zoom across the court and find their way into the hands of an open shooter.

Davis’ 50 burger led the Los Angeles Lakers to a huge blowout victory against the Timberwolves 142-125 and elevated the team’s record to 21-3.
