The Los Angeles Lakers news that every fan is hoping for is the eventual return of Laker basketball and there are promising signs that we could be getting closer to that becoming a reality.
According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, the Lakers have been in contact with the mayor’s office to try and discuss the team at least re-opening the practice facility for its players. It has already been reported that the NBA is eyeing May 8 to re-open practice facilities with rigorous guidelines in places where restrictions are starting to be eased.
California’s guidelines have been more strict and re-opening may take longer. That is why, according to Sam Amick and Joe Vardon of The Athletic, California teams are hoping to convince Gavin Newsome that they should be included in ‘stage 2’ of the phased re-opening plan, which includes retail for curbside pickup, manufacturing, office spaces and ‘more public spaces’.

It makes you wonder how much longer that wagon could have kept going if things would have been different in 2004.
