Los Angeles Lakers veteran minimum guard targets: 1. Marco Belinelli

Marco Belinelli has been around the league. If the Los Angeles Lakers were to sign him, or any new team was to sign him, for that matter, then it would be his 10th NBA team that he has suited up for since his career started in 2007.

At only 34 years old, Belinelli could absolutely play another three years in the league and sign one-year deals for each season, which would give him 12 total teams played for, tying him with Joe Smith for the most of all-time.

Belinelli has seen a big drop in production this season with the San Antonio Spurs but that does not mean that he would not be valuable to the Los Angeles Lakers. He would be a great depth two-guard that could come in, play off-ball, and knock down one or two big shots to potentially swing a run.

Belinelli is a career 37.6 three-point shooter and we have seen how important he could be off the bench for a title contender in recent years. The Philadelphia 76ers traded for Bellineli during the 2017-18 season and he became one of the team’s most important bench assets.

In Philly, Belinelli averaged 26.3 minutes, 13.6 points and shot 38.5 percent from beyond the arc. His workload in Los Angeles would not be that large, but if he produced at that level then it would be an exceptional addition to the Lakers’ bench.
