The Los Angeles Lakers’ potential offseason blueprint could look something like this.
Whether or not the 2020 NBA returns or not, the Los Angeles Lakers will need to have a game-plan for this coming offseason. With no cap flexibility and few trade assets, the 2020 off-season for the purple and gold could be interesting.
The long wait for NBA basketball continues. Whispers that basketball could be coming back in July gives fans of the beautiful game hope that sooner rather than later we will be able to tune in to watch the purple and gold.
With the season (if it continues) expected to be rushed to the finish line, it puts more of a focus on what the purple and gold plan on doing during the offseason.
With little in the way of cap space and scarce trade assets, the Lakers will have to get creative to see off the other championship-caliber teams.
With LeBron James and Anthony Davis (potentially) on the roster next season, the purple and gold have a good chance at competing for a ring, but if even one of the top teams in the league gets better, the LeBron led Lakers could be in serious trouble.
Can the Lakers pull a rabbit out of a hat and land players that will push them beyond their fellow competitors?
Can they land a player in free agency who will make a significant impact and strengthen the team?
All we can do right now is wait and find out.
Or we can speculate what they could do next season.
With that being said, Here is a scenario of a Potential Los Angeles Lakers 2020 offseason blueprint.
