2. February 12th, 2020, Los Angeles Lakers at Denver Nuggets – Overtime win against a top Western Conference Team

When the Denver Nuggets finished 2nd in the Western Conference in the 2018-19 season, it was a general consensus that they would compete for the number one seed this regular season. That is why every time the Lakers played them this season it was a good measure of where they stood among the best in their conference.

More from Lake Show Life

After trading wins in their first two contests, their third match up provided one of the best games of the season around the league. Every quarter in this game the lead changed until the end of regulation, then the Nuggets made clutch plays to tie the game and send it into overtime.

Yet it was Anthony Davis who was the one who came up big in overtime, he hit a three-pointer to give them the lead late. Then he was able to seal the game by making one of his two free-throw attempts when the Nuggets were forced to foul.

Once again, the King and AD dominated the scoring load for the Lakers in this one. Even with the extra playing time, they scored more than half of the teams points with 32 and 33 points respectively.

The Denver Nuggets one two punch of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokić also had solid scoring nights, and it still was not enough to match the all-star duo playing on the other side. Davis, Dwight Howard, and Javale McGee were all able to hold Jokić to just two points above his average, and that proved to be the difference in this one.
