Los Angeles Lakers: 3 reasons why LeBron James is this year’s MVP
LeBron James is leading the NBA in assists
Seventeen seasons in the league and LeBron is still playing at the highest of levels. Seventeen seasons!!!
At the age of 35, no one would hold it against LeBron if he fell off, he has dominated for so long, he was bound to eventually be washed. He heard the washed talk last season and came back with a vengeance this year.
We always knew LeBron was a great passer but I don’t think anyone expected for the King to lead the league in assists at the age of 35. LeBron in his 17th season has 10.6APG.
LeBron has had to take over playmaking duties out of necessity for the purple and gold this season.
With Avery Bradley starting at the point guard position due to his ability to play borderline elite defense, it forces LeBron to step up to the mark as a play-maker, and without a shadow of a doubt, he has done that and then some.
At times this season, LeBron has looked like Magic Johnson on the floor, whether he is cleaning the boards on the defensive end or receiving the ball in stride up the court, LeBron races down the floor catching the opposing defense panicking and either split the D with his elite speed or fires a pinpoint accurate pass to an open teammate who gets an easy basket. Rarely does LeBron make the wrong pass.
When you look at LeBron playing the point forward position, it makes you think that if LeBron decided to be a point guard, he would be the greatest point guard in history.
Such is the skill level that you would never bet against him when it comes to doing something at the elite of the elite level.
LeBron is going to win the assist title this season and as he gets older, you could see James making this a regular occurrence, less physical strain on his body and he gets to be the point god the Lakers have begged for since Magic Johnson retired.
