The Los Angeles Lakers could trade for a player from the Southeast in the offseason.

Win or lose in the NBA Playoffs, the Los Angeles Lakers are going to undoubtedly look to improve the team in any way possible in the offseason. That does not mean that the team is inevitably going to make any significant moves, but we can be certain that Rob Pelinka is going to be on the phone often.

While we wait in this purgatory before the season resumes in Orlando (if it even does as Dwight Howard and Kyrie Irving have spoken out against resuming the year), we have decided to breakdown one realistic trade target for the Lakers from each NBA team.

We are breaking this series down by division and in the third installment of the series, we take a look at the Southeast Division, which consists of the Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards.

However, there is one caveat when we look at the Southeast division: there are no realistic trade targets from the Atlanta Hawks.

The Atlanta Hawks are at the stage where they almost exclusively have young talent and do not have any viable assets worth trading for. If Dewayne Dedmon had a smaller contract then you could make sense of that acquisition after the team traded for Clint Capela, but his contract is just too much to bring on.

So with that out of the way, let’s look at one potential trade target from the Charlotte Hornets.
