Former Los Angeles Lakers players would fit nicely on the 2020 team.

This Los Angeles Lakers team is really really good but imagine for a second if a member of the Lakers famed young core could be brought back to help this team. Who would you choose?

For the LeBron James and Anthony Davis partnership to blossom, the Lakers famed young core had to perish.

Virtually every fan would take the current situation the Los Angeles Lakers are in now to being a perennial lottery team like the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, or Phoenix Suns, but that doesn’t mean that fans of the purple and gold do not miss the young talent we once possessed.

During the lottery years, as an organization, the Lakers were losing, season after season they put together a losing record over numerous back to back seasons that had not been seen in Lakers history.

During that time, the Lakers amassed some young talent.

While any Lakers fan would choose superstars on the roster and winning games and championships over being a lottery team, as fans, we got used to rooting for our young up and coming stars and the excitement of them realizing their potential and becoming All-Stars was a new sensation for Lakers fans but one that we welcomed with open arms.

For the championship dreams to live, the young core had to die.

We love Anthony Davis but at the same time, we have mourned the loss of our young stars.

Looking at where the Lakers are right not we wouldn’t change a thing but if we had the opportunity to take just one player from the Laker’s young core over the years and inject them into the Lakers starting lineup, that would be an interesting proposition.

With that all being said, here are 3 members of the Los Angeles Lakers famed “young core” who could make a huge difference for the purple and gold this season.
