The baby Los Angeles Lakers:

Talen Horton-Tucker: Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress

This one was a no brainer. The Lakers drafted Horton-Tucker in the 2019 NBA Draft and kept him with their G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, for the majority of his rookie season. He’s a 6’4 shooting guard with a 7’1 inch wingspan and loads of potential. Just take a look at this highlight tape the team put together for him:

The Carousel of Progress highlights all of the achievements and developments that Disney has made over the years, and gives a sneak peak into the new era of technology. Think of Horton-Tucker as the Lakers’ sneak peek into their next generation of young talent. Already solidifying himself as a fan favorite, THT will have no trouble getting supporters to hop on his carousel of progress.

Kostas Antetokounmpo – Journey Into Imagination With Figment

A ride that’s all about using your imagination is the perfect comparison for Antetokounmpo. Why? It’s simple, whenever I think about him, my imagination immediately shows me a picture of his brother, Giannis, in a Los Angeles Lakers jersey. The Lakers know that Kostas is their best shot at landing The Greek Freak when he becomes a free agent in 2021 and hopefully his desire to play with his brother will turn all of our dreams into a reality.

Outside of that, imagine a world where Kostas capitalizes on his potential and becomes just as good as his brother. In this scenario, the Lakers convert his two-way deal into a spot on the active roster and he spends another two seasons on the bench.

Once LeBron is on the decline, the Lakers start to give Antetokounmpo a more consistent role and in his age 25 season he breaks onto the scene averaging 20-plus points. Armed with a 6’10 frame and a 7’2 wingspan, Kostas wreaks havoc on the league for the foreseeable future and becomes the Lakers’ next superstar alongside Anthony Davis.

Now, that was imagination at it’s finest, Figment would be proud.

Devontae Cacok – The Barnstormer

The Barnstormer is all about Goofy literally storming into his own barn and making a mess of it with his plane. Well, consider the NBA G-League as the barn that Cacok just stormed because he had an amazing rookie season with the South Bay Lakers. Cacok finished the season by being named to the All-NBA G-League First Team and NBA G-League All-Rookie team. Although he averaged 19.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals on 65.9 percent shooting from the field, the most impressive number is the number of games that he started in.

Cacok only started in two games this season and averaged 23.9 minutes per game, which only makes the fact that he finished the season with 16 straight games of 20 or more points all the more special. If he continues down the path that he’s on, he could become a key rotational player for the Lakers sooner rather than later. Cacok quite literally burst onto the scene this year and Goofy should consider himself lucky to even be compared to the 23-year old wing.
