The Los Angeles Lakers’ showing in the Orlando bubble will influence the offseason.

As long as everything goes as planned, we are just over three weeks away from the NBA being back in action when the Los Angeles Lakers kick off the 2020 Orlando bubble in a doubleheader against the Los Angeles Clippers on July 30. The New Orleans Pelicans take on the Utah Jazz in the other half of the doubleheader.

With the coronavirus pandemic developing by the day, the hope is that the league can go forward as planned. However, NBA commissioner Adam Silver has already said that a new surge in cases among teams could put a halt to this return plan.

Hopefully, the season can resume safely that way the Lakers do not feel as if there is unfinished business. The Lakers are the top team in the Western Conference and have a really good chance of bringing home championship number 17 in Orlando.

Whatever happens in the bubble, whether good or bad, will shape the upcoming offseason for the Lakers as well. The upcoming offseason is set to be a shorter one because the nature of what the league is trying to do and a lot of the front office’s plans will likely be laid out during the Orlando bubble.

Certain players, in particular, face added pressure in the bubble as their future with the team or in the league could be riding all on how they perform in this short sprint. Three players are on the hot seat and have to perform.
