Los Angeles Lakers bring back DeMarcus Cousins

The Los Angeles Lakers had their big 3 in place this season. LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and DeMarcus Cousins.

Injury strikes Boogie once more and robs not only Cousins of a year but the Los Angeles Lakers of a player who could have easily been there the third star.

Cousins has been through injury hell for the better part of two years. His perseverance during this difficult time has been nothing short of inspiring.

Cousins has battled back against injuries that could have robbed him of his career, that many players would have simply called it a day and moved on.

Not Cousins.

His love of the game, his will to still play at the highest level, and his trust in his skill-set and talent push him during the days he feels like quitting.

If Boogie and the Lakers can run it back next season, it would be mutually beneficial for everyone involved.

The purple and gold get a fully fit and fully focused DeMarcus Cousins who is wanting to show the basketball world that he can still be as dominant as he once was before.

Before his injuries, Cousins was easily considered the best center in the game. Joel Embiid,  Nikola Jokic, and Karl Anthony Towns were fighting for it, but Cousins had the crown. In the modern game, DeMarcus Cousins is the closest player we have to Shaq.

A dominant offensive force who can beat you with a vast array of post moves in the paint or he can drill a hole in your chest and dunk on you. Cousins can also step out to the 3-point line which gives him added versatility, especially in today’s game.

One of the hidden gems of Cousins’ game is his passing game.

For a center, Cousins can dish the rock, whether he is doing so in transition or out of the post, he is extremely capable of making the perfect pass to an open teammate.#

If Cousins can come back, rejoin the Lakers and be even 80% of what he was before his injury, then the purple and gold have their 3rd star.
