The Los Angeles Lakers could absolutely make a big trade in the offseason.
Right now, the main focus for the Los Angeles Lakers is to win championship number 17 in the Orlando bubble. However, with such a short offseason on the horizon, Rob Pelinka and the rest of the front office are likely already prepping some likely moves.
That may become more urgent if the team does not win the championship in the bubble as well. With some trade assets, the front office would be doing a disservice by not at least trying to make something happen.
There have been some interesting fan ideas that have been created, most of which do not make a lot of sense (no, the Washington Wizards are not going to trade Bradley Beal for Danny Green and Kyle Kuzma).
However, there have been some ideas that actually could make sense for all parties involved, including a recent idea that brings DeMar DeRozan home to LA in a three-way trade between the Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs and the Philadelphia 76ers.
The trade idea was first proposed by an Instagram account with 44.9 thousand followers, @jerseyxswap. And while we typically do not write entire articles based on fan trade ideas, we wanted to dive into this one to determine whether or not it would actually be worth it for all three teams and more specifically, if the Los Angeles Lakers would be better off with the trade.
*NOTE: This is not a report of a trade being in the works between the Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia 76ers. This is merely an analysis of a hypothetical trade.
