By Ethan Temkin
With the Los Angeles Lakers set to start their scrimmages on July 23rd, let’s look at three things to watch for when the team takes the court.
The restart of the NBA season is nearly upon us as the league looks to play out the rest of the 2019-2020 season within the confines of Disney World in sunny Orlando, FL. The teams have arrived, have mostly gone through their initial quarantine, and are in the process of getting back into game shape for the eventual restart of the season on July 30th.
So far, bubble life has already given us some incredible moments, such as Dwight Howard being the only one to show up for a scheduled DJ event, and JaVale McGee giving us an in-depth look at life in the bubble via his YouTube channel. As life in the bubble starts to take shape, there will be no shortage of hilarious moments that will be making the rounds on social media.
Prior to them playing out eight regular-season games for seeding purposes, each team will be playing three scrimmage games as a primer for the actual restart. For the Los Angeles Lakers, their first scrimmage game is set to start on July 23rd at 4 p.m. PDT against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.
On July 25th, the team is set to face off against the Orlando Magic at 9 a.m. PDT and will round out the scrimmage schedule against the Washington Wizards on July 27th at 12 p.m. PDT.
These three games should prove to be a good starting point for the team to identify a number of key things going forward. Here are three things that Laker fans should be on the lookout for during these three scrimmages.
