The Los Angeles Lakers made Seth Curry look like Stephen Curry!

In a past life working in television a couple of years back, I met and had a chat with old Charlotte Hornets TV announcer Steve Martin. He let me know who was the best shooter in the Curry family. To anyone reading this, they would guess Steph. In my mind, I thought it was Dell Curry (If you are not an NBA historian, you have no clue how well this man can shoot!).

To the shock of everyone involved, Steve Martin stated clearly that Seth Curry was the best pure shooter in the family.

The Los Angeles Lakers did a fine job of making Martin look like a genius in this game. Seth Curry was knocking down bombs from all over the court.

The Los Angeles Lakers lost this game because the Dallas Mavericks shot lights out from the 3 point line. But let’s just talk about Curry, who didn’t miss a shot all night long.

Curry knocked down six shots from the land of the extra point, hit a layup while drawing a foul and hitting a mid-range shot. All told, Steph (Hold up! That’s not Steph?), umm, Seth, scored 23 points. Look, that dude’s shooting is in the family DNA. Dell Curry could be on the Maury Povich Show and all Seth has to do is knock down a 20 footer and Maury would yell “Dell…you are the father!”

This is about the porous defense of the Lakers guards. All of them got the business. Seth wasn’t the only one knocking them down from distance. All of the Mavs’ guards and wing players were hitting shots. Even Boban knocked down a shot from deep.

This old “This was the first scrimmage” narrative is not going to fly here. Bottom line, the Lakers did not get to the shooters and this lost the game for them.
