The Los Angeles Lakers won their third and final scrimmage against the Washington Wizards.
The Los Angeles Lakers finished up the scrimmage part of the season against the Washington Wizards winning a defense optional finale. This game was all about the two newcomers Dion Waiters and J.R. Smith showing why they were signed and Alex Caruso putting on a “CaruShow”. Lake Show Life breaks down a Lakers game without the stars in Lake Show Life Lessons!
The final scrimmage game the Los Angeles Lakers played against the Washington Wizards was a complete win for all involved. The Lakers won a game where Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Dwight Howard and Kyle Kuzma did not see the floor, while rotation players, Danny Green and JaVale McGee did not play in the second half.
This game was all about seeing growth of the “South Bay” Lakers and three players, Frank Vogel has to juggle minutes for in the playoffs.
Mission accomplished on all accounts as the Los Angeles Lakers finished out the restart scrimmages with a 2-1 record winning 123-116 in a defense optional affair for both teams. Frank Vogel and the coaching staff got exactly what they wanted out of this game.
- LeBron James and Anthony Davis, barring some unforeseen major problems will be healthy and very well rested for Thursday night’s season reboot against the Los Angeles Clippers.
- Alex Caruso got some major time on the floor after missing the first game with back soreness and the second with 6 fouls in 12 minutes.
- Getting to see some major rotation options and patterns for guards, Caruso, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Quinn Cook, Dion Waiters and J.R. Smith for playmaking previews for the postseason.
- A final look at Talen Horton-Tucker, Kostas Antetokounmpo and Devontae Cacok as this will be the last time they get any consistent run in the bubble.
As for the Washington Wizards, they were without a lot of their key players in the bubble, with Davis Bertans flat out saying no and Bradley Beal with an injury. It was a chance to reminisce watching late picks, Thomas Bryant, Isaac Bonga and Moe Wagner run up and down the floor.
Washington got within three points with less than a minute left, but Dion Waiters for the second straight game closed out the game in the 4th quarter with timely shooting.
Lake Show Life will avoid the “I smell feet!” jokes as LeBron James chases the ball down and throws it to the referee here.

But as you can see, the Los Angeles Lakers are probably doing the best job of making the best out of the situation while in the Orlando bubble as all of the other participants. The majority of the game, LeBron James was seen laughing and joking with Anthony Davis while creating much-needed energy that will be needed with no crowds in the arena.

If you are a Los Angeles Lakers fan, Lake Show Life is here to tell you not to take this silliness and fun for granted. When the stars have accepted the circumstances and are happy, the rest of the team will follow as well. If you think we are lying, there’s always the Lou Williams “Magic City” situation over the weekend to make comparisons.
Well enough about the players that didn’t play, let’s discuss the players that did play. Lake Show Life Lessons starts with the guy that seemingly couldn’t miss from 3 point range!
