The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Utah Jazz on Monday.

The Los Angeles Lakers tried to right the ship after a poor showing against the Toronto Raptors. Lake Show Life breaks down the game in Lake Show Life Lessons!

Here’s a Lake Show Life fun fact. When Anthony Davis is aggressive and looking for his shot, the NBA is in trouble. Nobody can stop this guy because of these reasons.

  • He has a full repertoire of ways to score.
  • He can foul out your entire team while getting the Lakers in the penalty in the process.
  • He knocks down his free throws at a very high volume. What’s better he gets his rhythm from there to do further damage.
  • That damage goes out to the 3 point line where after shooting less than 30% for the first half of the season, he has improved to nearly 35%.

Anthony Davis’s night can easily be summed up in one play closing out a 42 point night.

More on Anthony Davis later because his night has to be discussed in detail. But for right now, that is one bad dude that will give Rudy Gobert and Tony Bradley nightmares if they ever play the Los Angeles Lakers again in their careers.

After taking a thorough whipping against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday, the Los Angeles Lakers came through with a very solid bounce-back win against the Utah Jazz on Monday night winning 116-108.

With the win, the Lakers officially clinched the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference for the first time since the 2009-10 season. This was basically done when they beat the Clippers on Thursday, but this win takes the famous “Mathematical chance” from their L.A. counterparts.  The Lakers also made history being the first team to be the number one seed after a five-year playoff absence.

Seems like this team just keep writing the record books this year!

Even though the Lakers did a better job of making adjustments against the Jazz, Lake Show Life is still waiting for the dominance that comes with have two all-time greats on the same roster. The Utah Jazz really tried to stick with the Lakers, but the talent of the Lake Show along with the fact that the absence of Bojan Bogdanovic made the difference. Without their best outside shooter, the Jazz really can’t shoot from distance.

The special Lake Show Life shout out goes to Frank Vogel.

After what was considered a poor coaching job against the Raptors, Vogel changed the game with in-game adjustments that got the team rolling. When the Jazz got off to a fast start in the third quarter with an 8-0 run to grab the lead, Vogel called timeout.

Soon after the Lakers seized momentum by forcing turnovers which ignited a 14-0 run (Extended to 19-5 to end the quarter!) to give the Lakers a comfortable double-digit lead 86-76.

In the last frame, the offense looked much crisper thanks to LeBron James dropping a quick seven points (More on him later!) including a deep three from the left-wing.

The Lakers were able to keep the Jazz at bay, despite the efforts of Donovan Mitchell. His attempt to rally the Jazz during the final few minutes was stopped by you guessed it, Anthony Davis. Feel free to see the video evidence above if you like.

Speaking of Anthony Davis. He really gave Utah some business cards!
