Are the Los Angeles Lakers in legitimate bubble trouble?

Despite sealing the #1 seed in the West for the first time since 2012, the Los Angeles Lakers have been far from impressive since the season restarted on July 30.

At the time of writing, the Lakers have a 2-4 record bubble record. A narrow win against an LA Clippers team missing Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams and a convincing 116-108 win against the Utah Jazz have been overshadowed by double-digit losses to the Toronto Raptors, Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets, as well as a narrow loss to the Indiana Pacers.

The three-game losing streak the team is currently on is their second-largest of the season, only trumped by a 4-game skid in mid-December.

Are the Lakers’ recent poor showings a product of coasting through what is now a meaningless regular season? Or is there reason to be concerned about the team’s bubble struggles?
