Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Lessons in Game 4 win over Portland Trail Blazers!
By Ronald Agers
The Los Angeles Lakers had a dominant showing on Mamba Day.
Lake Show Life basically told the NBA world that the first-round series between the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers was over after Game 3. This series is going to Wednesday just for rules regulations because teams have to win four games.
If the Los Angeles Lakers wanted to honor Kobe Bryant Day with this game, that mission was accomplished and then some. Mamba Mentality was definitely in the building. After stringing together a streak of slow starts since entering the bubble, the Portland Trail Blazers were officially finished by the 4:30 mark of the first quarter. This was a game of runs. All Lakers runs.
"LeBron: “When I looked up and saw we were up 24-8, I was like, OK, he’s here in the building.”"
In the last Lake Show Life Lessons post-game report, we stated that the Los Angeles Lakers had figured out the Portland Trail Blazers and the series is over. Man, the Los Angeles Lakers illustrated our prediction in play so dominating and so vicious that the only sports personality on the planet that has to eat this crow is Charles Barkley.

Breaking News from Lake Show Life! The Los Angeles Lakers have accepted their nomination as an NBA title contender with a complete domination of the Portland Trail Blazers winning 135-115. It was not that close and if you can win two games in one, this is how you do it.
The Lakers have a 3-1 advantage leading into Wednesday’s game and if Damian Lillard has to sit out with his knee injury, this game might look competitive in comparison.
- After the first quarter, the Los Angeles Lakers were 43-25.
- At the half, the Lakers led 80-51. LeBron James dropped baskets in the final three possessions before halftime.
- The 80 points were the highest total in a playoff half since 1987 when they dropped 82 against the Denver Nuggets.
- They also shot 62.2% from the field, which is the highest they’ve shot from the field in any half since 2010. The last time that happened, Kobe Bryant was present. Get used to the Kobe Bryant references because there’s not much to analyze in this game!
- LeBron James is used to the 80 point first half plateau. His Cleveland Cavaliers scored 86 back in 2017 against the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals.
The Portland Trail Blazers were a great story forcing their way into the playoffs by way of a play-in tournament against incredible odds. But it is now midnight for the Cinderella Blazers. It’s over. The Portland Trail Blazers know it, the NBA fans know it and most importantly, the Los Angeles Lakers are showing it.
All of this happened in the first half. Anyone just want to talk Kobe Bryant memories?
