1. Los Angeles Lakers-Indiana Pacers swap
If the Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers were going to do a two-team swap for Victor Oladipo then this would probably be the offer that the Pacers would receive and would be the highest the Lakers could really go. You could make the case of throwing Talen Horton-Tucker in the deal, but the Lakers seem to really like THT.
Now, this might seem like a low price for Oladipo and it admittedly is. However, we also have to realize that Oladipo is coming off an injury where he did not look like the same Oladpio this season. Plus, the Pacers are only trading one year of Oladipo.
It still is a bit low and this would be a deal that would only happen if a different offer didn’t beat the Lakers. But still, there is value in this for the Indiana Pacers.
Danny Green gives them a one-year three and D player who would actually mesh really well alongside Malcolm Brogdon. He gives the team much-needed title experience and just from a style perspective would fit nicely.
They also get a young forward in Kyle Kuzma who could be the spark off the bench as a 3/4 hybrid. The Pacers would have to extend Kuzma after this season but he is a restricted free agent and his price will be far less than Oladipo.
The Pacers also get a draft pick. Now, technically, the Lakers cannot trade this pick but they can work around it, agree to the deal in principle, draft the player and include that rookie in the deal. We have seen this time and time again and would add the salary needed to make this trade work financially.
