Can the Los Angeles Lakers reunite with their former point guard Lonzo Ball?
It feels like an eternity since the Anthony Davis trade. This NBA year has moved at a snail’s pace for obvious reasons and even the start of the basketball season seems like a distant memory.
The days of the young core seem so far away.
It was June 2019 when the Los Angeles Lakers made the difficult decision to trade the vast majority of the young core for Superstar Anthony Davis. Looking back now, With ESPN’s Woj being one of the 1st to break the news on twitter.
Over a year on from the deal and I don’t think the Lakers have any regrets with Anthony Davis and LeBron James leading the Lakers to the best record in the Western Conference and their first playoff berth since the 2012-13 NBA season.
One of the main trade assets involved in the deal, Brandon Ingram has gone on to become an All-Star and is this year NBA’s most improved player.
Josh Hart has gone on to become a valued role player within the team and has shown all the promise with the Pelicans as he did with the Lakers.
The Pelicans were able to put the Lakers fourth pick to good use and trade down for center Jaxson Hayes who is also a long term part of their rotation.
Another main part of the deal however has had an up and down season for the Pelicans and that is Big Baller himself Lonzo Ball.
