The Los Angeles Lakers will either take on the Los Angeles Clippers or Denver Nuggets.

The Los Angeles Lakers have made the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2010 — the same year that the team won its last NBA Championship.

The Lakers made quick work of the Houston Rockets after dropping Game 1, completing their second-straight gentleman’s sweep in the process. Now, the Lakers are just playing the waiting game, waiting for the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets Western Conference Semifinals to wrap up.

The Clippers had a 3-1 series lead over the Nuggets and appeared to be the much better basketball team. However, back-to-back blown halftime leads have put the Clippers in a tough spot: a must-win Game 7 against a team with a lot of momentum.

If the Nuggets pull it off and win Game 7 on Tuesday then they will join the Kansas City Royals as the only major four American sports team to win back-to-back series after being down three games to one.

On one hand, you have a team with a lot of momentum in the Denver Nuggets. On the other, you have a team that Laker fans have been dying to beat in the NBA Playoffs all year in the Los Angeles Clippers.

Who should Los Angeles Lakers fans root for?

We broke this down on the latest episode of the Lake Show Life Podcast.

While it would be nice to stick it to the Clippers and beat them in the Western Conference Finals, as Daniel Preciado claims, it would be even better to say that the Clippers could not even meet the Lakers at the dance to begin with.

Some other talking points of the podcast episode include:

Houston series recap:

We briefly break down the Lakers’ series with Houston and the adjustments that Frank Vogel made in the final two games. We continue to discuss the impact that Rajon Rondo has had on the team as well as the pleasant surprise of Talen Horton-Tucker getting playing time in both Game 4 and 5.

Of course, it would not be a Lake Show Life Podcast without a mention of Alex Caruso.

LA/Denver Game 7 betting predictions:

We bring a bonus betting prediction in this episode as we pick who will cover the spread in Game 7 and if the over or under will hit on the total. In this prediction, we also predict who will win the game outright.

NBA Playoffs roundup:

The Milwaukee Bucks were shocked in the second round and we briefly touch on the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics Eastern Conference Finals matchup. We both pick the winning team that we think could potentially square off against the Lakers in the NBA Finals.
