Anthony Davis drained a game-winner in Game 2 and the Denver Nuggets’ only chance of beating the Los Angeles Lakers vanished.

The Los Angeles Lakers have only lost two games in the NBA Playoffs thus far. They dropped the first game of the series to both the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets before making the proper adjustments to dominate both teams to a gentleman’s sweep.

The Lakers are up 2-0 over the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals and we very well could see a sweep on our hands. In fact, heading into this series I gave the Nuggets no chance of getting past the Lakers, giving them, at most, one win against the Lakers.

That winnable game has now come and gone. Yes, you read that correctly. Game 2 was the one game that the Nuggets should have won. Now, they are down 2-0 and I would feel confident in betting on the Lakers to complete the sweep.

Anthony Davis’ buzzer-beater was a career-defining moment that might get lost in the narrative as the series won’t even be close. This is not just blind optimism, either, it is quite clear that the Lakers are the better basketball team and that Game 2 was the perfect storm of things for the Nuggets to win and they just could not get it done.

Here is why the Nuggets will be swept.
