The Los Angeles Lakers are going to the NBA Finals! 5 Lessons!
By Ronald Agers
Alex Caruso played out of his mind in the first half. Disappeared in the 3rd quarter and closed the game!
Music selection: Play that funky music…Wild Cherry!
Don’t let the headline fool you. Alex Caruso was in a zone in the first half hitting all five of his shots. Then in the 3rd quarter, his face was on a missing person’s poster. Frank Vogel didn’t play him! The same thing that happened to Dwight Howard in the previous game happened to Caruso.
But when he was in the game, Caruso made the Lakers offense sing with his movement off the ball and allowing space for his teammates.
But this Caruso, man, he plays so hard and runs his lanes with purpose.

Many players want to look pretty on the floor and are not willing to make winning plays. Alex Caruso will cut, defend and play within the schemes of the Los Angeles Lakers. When he makes mistakes and LeBron talks to him, he just nods his head and learns.
In 26 minutes, Caruso scored 11 points (5-7 shooting!), dished out 4 assists, grabbed 2 rebounds and had a steal and a block. He led the team in plus/minus ratio with a +16.
The Nuggets role players did not match his energy and it showed in this game. To put this perspective, the Nuggets made a run when Caruso was OUT of the game! This dude is a player young players in the NBA can learn from.
Finally…Frank Vogel and the coaching staff outcoached their counterparts. Here’s what they did!
