3 trades to improve the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason
While the Los Angeles Lakers love stars, maybe it is time to hit a few doubles and singles rather than chasing home-runs.
The Los Angeles Lakers is a superstar driven organization. It always has been and it always will be. The superstars are the reason why the team is in the NBA Finals for the first time since 2010.
The purple and gold have prided themselves on bringing a grouping of superstars together and having them work towards a common goal of lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy.
And throughout the history of the NBA, the Lakers have been the second most successful team in terms of landing Superstar talent.
From Elgin, Wilt and Jerry West, to Magic, Worthy and Kareem, to Shaq and Kobe, then Kobe and Pau and now AD and LeBron.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been truly blessed with the level of talent they have been able to put together over the years, with AD and LeBron now the current duo, what is stopping the purple and gold from going all out to find a 3rd star?
They chased the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and D’Angelo Russell in free agency 2019 but to no avail.
They were then able to cobble together a roster from what remained of the free agents.
All in all the Lakers were able to build a squad that is capable of competing for a ring alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Instead of chasing the 3rd star, maybe it is time for the Los Angeles Lakers to focus on building a deep roster rather than gut the team in pursuit of a 3rd Star.
Here are 3 trades that would improve the Los Angeles Lakers roster.
