2. 2020

  • LeBron’s stats for the series: 29.8 PPG, 11.8 RPG, 8.5 APG while shooting 59.1%/41.7%/66.7%
  • Opponent: Miami Heat (44-29 regular season record, #7 regular-season offensive rating, #11 regular-season defensive rating)

The most recent championship ranks second in LeBron’s career. This championship was significantly hard and for that LeBron and the Lakers deserve massive props.

Miami proved to be a formidable opponent even with two of their three best players out for three games. Jimmy Butler went toe to toe with LeBron in Game 5 and provided us a classic game.

Speaking of LeBron James, Game 5 was a unique masterpiece even by his standards. He finished with 40 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Couple this performance with the fact that James is 35 years old and this series might have a case for being his greatest Finals performance ever.

The bubble was one of the toughest mental tests these players have had to go through and with everything going on in the outside world (we are in the middle of a pandemic after all) everybody inside Disney had to be laser-focused towards the end goal.

However, we all know why this FMVP can’t be #1. You already know what’s coming…
